NEWARK, N.J., October 5, 2010 – The Ironbound Business Improvement District’s Executive Director, Seth A. Grossman, was a featured speaker at the recent Brick City Ironbound BIKEFEST. Grossman, joined by Josh Knoblick, Brick City Bike Collective and Joe Vocaturo, Commuter Transit & Parking Services Director at Rutgers-Newark, helped organize the event to promote bicycle transportation among Rutgers students in the City of Newark and to introduce students to the Ironbound District and its great dining, shopping and services.
“Bike usage is a great way to travel in the City and beat parking issues,” noted Grossman. “Rutgers has put together an important and needed program along with the Brick City Bike Collective and we are happy to support the university,” he concluded.
After gathering on the Rutgers-Newark campus, participating students rode their bikes to Riverbank Park in the Ironbound District for a boxed lunch and brief talks about biking, safety, and the Ironbound.
