How to get to the Ironbound

Ironbound Business Improvement District

Via Route 280
Follow Route 280 East to Exit 15 (Route 21 South – Ironbound). At bottom of ramp, go right onto Route 21 South (McCarter Highway). Follow Route 21 South to Edison Place (two lights after Raymond Blvd.) and make a left – Edison Place merges into Ferry Street.

From NJ Turnpike
Follow NJ Turnpike to Exit 15E (Newark). After toll booth follow Raymond Boulevard west into the Ironbound.Take a left onto Buren or Jefferson Streets to Ferry Street.

Via Route 78
Follow Route 78 East until it splits near Newark Airport. Stay right and follow Route 1&9 South to Route 21 North (McCarter Highway). Travel across viaduct. Follow Route 21 North to Edison Place.Go right under railroad tracks (Penn Station) onto Ferry Street.

Rail Directions: 
NJ TRANSIT is Bound for the IronBound. Take the fast and convenient way on NJ TRANSIT rail, bus or the Newark City Subway to Newark Penn Station which is located at the IronBound’s doorstep

The Northeast Corridor, Raritan line and North Jersey Coast Line as well as the Newark City Subway stop at Newark Penn Station.

The Montclair-Boonton and Morris & Essex Lines stop at Newark Broad Street Station, where customers pickup the Loop bus which stops at the IronBound.

Opening in Summer 2006, the Newark City Subway Extension will connect Newark Broad Street Station with Newark Penn Station giving customers faster access to the IronBound.

The Main-Bergen and Pascack Valley Lines stop at Secaucus Junction where customers can take the Northeast Corridor one stop to Newark Penn Station.
